Nexxiot Strengthens Digital Thought Leadership – Paul Wielsch Becomes CTO

Zurich, April 30th 2021 – Nexxiot is further strengthening its management team. As of April 19, 2021, Paul Wielsch holds the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Swiss IoT company headquartered in Zurich. He is an expert in driving innovation and scaling high tech products from proof of concept to market maturity. The experienced manager has exceptional knowledge in the areas of research and development and will thus further advance Nexxiot’s vision of developing the digital logistics solutions of the future.

Companies across all industries are faced with the challenge of continuously realizing their existing business models for themselves and their customers, while at the same time constantly evolving through innovation to generate additional value and open new markets. In the field of international supply chains, Nexxiot takes a key role as a technology supplier and digital enabler, supporting its customers on their journey from an analog to a digital business model. To strengthen this role, the IoT company appoints Paul Wielsch as CTO, who will unite the needs of logistics companies for digital solutions for all types of non-powered transport assets, such as freight wagons or containers, in the product development of innovative gateways, sensors and the further development of the intelligent Nexxiot Logistics Cloud.

“It is important for companies today to react quickly and correctly. If they do not follow trends, there is a risk that they will lose relevance in the long term. With Paul Wielsch, we have an excellent CTO on board who will continuously incorporate our clients’ requirements and ideas into our development process and map them during product development. Nexxiot will continue to work in a very targeted manner on solutions that set the industry standards of the future and inspire our clients,” says Stefan Kalmund, CEO of Nexxiot.

“Nexxiot operates globally in an environment that will see a lot of movement in the coming years. The goal is to secure and expand our market leadership through product innovation,”

says the new CTO, Paul Wielsch.

The 44-year-old graduate engineer previously held management positions at Bartec GmbH, a German safety technology company that is the global market leader in explosion protection. He will be able to put this knowledge to good use at Nexxiot in the future, because the IoT company’s sensors must be able to operate intrinsically safe in areas where there is a constant risk of explosion. To this end, all Nexxiot sensors are certified with IECEx and the ATEX markings IIC and IIIC.
