    A message from the Co-Founder, Daniel MacGregor

    I believe humanity has a duty to act responsibly to protect the wellbeing of the natural world for future generations.

    I studied environmental systems at university and realised that whilst research on climate change is essential to understand the problems we face, we must act collectively to make a significant impact.

    As I observed global politics, I realised enterprise must lead the charge by acting from within business to propagate change.

    Nexxiot was founded to create multiple business and sustainability improvements. Reducing supply chain waste and improving operational efficiency is the first opportunity. This is followed by vast service improvements made possible through interrogating big data using cutting edge algorithms. As the data and understanding grows, the opportunities to profit increases too.

    Despite the challenges mankind is facing to reduce emissions, I refuse to accept bleak projections. For the first time in our existence the promise of exponential improvement is real. Nexxiot technology strives to deliver continuous efficiency gains, leading to increased profitability and simultaneously improving sustainability.

    My role as Co-Founder has of course evolved since the start. Now I manage the thought leadership team and deal with developing strategic partnerships to build out our network for greater reach and impact. Together we must reimagine the interface between big data and the human and define the objectives and parameters of the “Digital Twin”. We must support our customers and their partners in deciding which questions to ask and how to take multiple small steps to achieve rapid and meaningful success.

    It’s about automating business processes and pushing value through the whole global value network. This means re-designing business models and partnerships to give strategic leaders the edge on competitors as they disrupt their industries.

    This is why we set our focus on the discovery process to manage and facilitate customers learning and find out which questions to ask for maximum impact.     A real opportunity to advance global trade now beckons
    Since the advent of GPS over thirty years ago, the idea of monitoring vast fleets of mobile, industrial objects has been an obvious one. TradeTech forerunners like Nexxiot harness this potential with hardware and a secure platform which brings prime asset and cargo data to life.

    It’s worth remembering that Silicon Valley originally took its name from a ‘hardware’ bedrock of computing, the silicon wafer chip. Original innovators like Microsoft and IBM made desktop PC’s and computer infrastructure. Physical devices – Hardware. These desktop computers were sold into every home, college and workplace the world over, opening the door to ongoing software sales of products like Windows 1,2,3,…and onwards, until Apple took center stage with its more desirable user experience. But then software was favored in the shift to the cloud and hardware became neglected.

    The world of supply chain and transportation is changing forever
    The people who make the supply chain work have been underserved. They work in tough, physical, and sometimes dangerous conditions, with adverse weather and heavy moving parts. Vital cargo winds its way around the world to where it’s needed, thanks to their resilience and dedication to solving problems. Their real problem, however, is that information is in silos and they don’t have the right tools to hand. A new hardware layer is required.

    Nexxiot now moves forward to equip millions of essential supply chain assets like Hapag Lloyd’s fleet of dry Intermodal Containers, Tank Containers, European and North American Rail rolling-stock and related logistics subsystems. Our clients are armed with real-time, prime asset and cargo data, gathered directly from the source. As a result, data aggregators are being disrupted and silos will soon be a thing of the past.

    Nexxiot is a purpose driven enterprise. We bring data to life to enable efficiency, to reduce risks, remove waste and reduce emissions. Therefore, we have refined our mission. It’s been chosen because it’s something that our clients believe in, and it resonates with our diverse team of 30 nations too. It will spur us on in this next part of the journey together.
